1/6 Committee member, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) warned 4 subpoenaed Trump associates that in the event that they don’t testify, they are going to be topic to legal contempt costs.
Rep. Schiff tweeted:
4 of Donald Trump’s associates have been subpoenaed to testify about January 6.

Rep. Schiff was speaking in regards to the subpoenas that were issued for Mark Meadows, Steve Bannon, Kashyap Patel, and Dan Scavino.
1/6 Committee has made it clear. They aren’t messing round. Schiff’s assertion echoes that of fellow 1/6 Committee member Jamie Raskin who warned Trump and all of his associates that the Committee will pursue criminal contempt charges against anyone who does comply with a subpoena. Raskin mentioned that subpoenas will not be optionally available and warned of significant penalties for individuals who try to ignore them.
It’s a completely different world now for Trump and his associates. They don’t have any political energy, and for individuals who had been subpoenaed, Trump has provided them no assist or help.
Trump can’t ignore this investigation, and he not has the platform to delegitimize it.
The 1/6 Committee is coming for Trump and his buddies, and in the event that they refuse to conform, they could discover themselves behind bars.
